MOST Association

Most Association is a non-governmental organization founded in 1995 at the initiative of Split experts in humanistic sciences, with the objective of improving the lives of the young, and of citizens of other age groups, by promoting the values of volunteerism, peer-to-peer assistance programmes, cooperation and dialogue.
Since 1998, Most Association has run continuously three programmes, as well as a series of projects and activities. We have been awarded numerous acknowledgements: in 2001 and 2006 we were voted the Association of the Year in the City of Split, in 2002 the Government of the Republic of Croatia awarded us with three acknowledgements for volunteerism promotion, and in 2006 we won an award from Split-Dalmatia County for contributions to work with socially endangered groups.
For the last ten years, Most has run a programme of psycho-social support for the young with behavioural disorders and difficulties in school and family environments. A proportion of the youths included in the programme have committed various crimes (including inflicting physical injury, causing material damage, theft, larceny, drug abuse, running away from home, vagrancy, and violent behaviour). The psycho-social support offered is provided by experts and peer assistants and has provided a way of working with youths unique so far in Croatia.
